The so-called "secret database" of Israeli Settlements

Ha'aretz recently revealed information regarding a secret Israeli government database on settlements located in Judea and Samaria. The newspaper posted the Hebrew version of the database on their Web site. Last month, the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) completed an English translation of the 200-page document.

The database provides a concise description of each of settlements, including their location, legal status, population, and even the origins of their names. In addition, it also contains Israel government cabinet resolutions relating to each settlement.

A copy of the database had been requested by Israeli citizens groups under that country's freedom of information law, but its release was denied by the Defense Ministry. Ha'aretz obtained a copy independently, which it published. The english translation is here below.
